In the putting stroke, the wrists aren’t stable because they’re “locked.” They stay quiet because the motion is well-coordinated and smooth.
Yes, grip pressure varies among great putters, but a lighter grip increases feel and awareness. Often golfers grip tightly because they need to control / steer the putter.

JA3 things you probably don’t do enough of in the release 👇🏽
1-Supination (lead arm counterclockwise rotation). Unless you’re DJ, or Victor Hovland (or trying to use the flexion / extension release pattern which you probably shouldn’t) you probably aren’t rotating your lead arm enough. This helps square the face, create additional speed and decrease loft. How do you know if you’re doing it enough? Hackmotion will tell you.
2-Lead wrist flexion, you’ve likely already seen 10,000 videos on this movement. Flexion helps square the face and shallow the club. Both things dusty golfers need.
3-If you flip / struggle “compressing” your irons try holding ulnar post impact forever. This will help create a longer flat spot through impact and thus more consistency. If you ulnar deviate too early without any flexion in the lead wrist, yes that’s a “cast,” But if you learn to add the flexion piece and hold ulnar for longer its impossible to extend the lead wrist and add loft.
