PRIf you ever get locked out of your Tesla at a public charger, this might surprise you.
In this clip, someone taps an NFC ring or card attached to the charging station and the car responds.
Not because it’s a hack.
But because of how EV systems communicate.
Public chargers, key cards, and Teslas use NFC-style handshakes to identify and wake systems.
In some cases, that handshake can briefly trigger the car’s charge-port interface and restore access.
Important context:
This is not an official Tesla feature.
It doesn’t work everywhere.
And results depend on the charger model, firmware, and vehicle settings.
It’s a great reminder that “AI-powered” and “smart” systems don’t always behave the way people expect.
