SOScammers use Telegram bots as phishing tools by automating fake interactions that appear legitimate and urgent. A bot is programmed to impersonate banks, crypto wallets, job portals, or customer support and is distributed through spam links, fake ads, or compromised groups. Once a victim starts the bot, it delivers prewritten messages, verification prompts, or reward claims that guide the user step by step into revealing sensitive data such as OTPs, passwords, recovery phrases, or card details. Bots also host fake login forms, redirect users to cloned websites, or request “verification” payments, all while avoiding human involvement and enabling large-scale attacks. Because Telegram bots are easy to create, anonymous, and hard to trace, scammers exploit them to scale phishing operations rapidly with minimal risk and high success rates 🤖
