Whoever said that loss gets easier with time was a liar. It only gets difficult over time. Here's what really happens: The spaces between the times you miss them grow longer. Then, when you do remember to miss them again, it's still with a stabbing pain to the heart. And you have guilt. Guilt because it's been too long since you missed them last. Because in life, you will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, the grief will overwhelm you, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp. And It’s not easy to love when you’re broken, or to love someone who is broken. But when I say that broken people love the hardest, I mean it. ❤️ ___ 🎬 Hamnet Genre : Drama/Romance IMDb 8.1 Streaming on : @primevideo @appletv 📌 Who knew Shakespeare's family heartbreak could feel this personal, raw and real? Chloé Zhao's direction is pure magic, turning 16th-century grief into something that feels like it's happening in my backyard, with those sweeping shots of plague-ravaged England that had me wiping tears non-stop. Paul Mescal as Will and Jessie Buckley as Agnes? Their chemistry is electric, like two souls tangled in love and loss, and Buckley's fierce healer vibe had me rooting for her every step, especially in those quiet moments of character growth after their son Hamnet's death. The plot twist tying their tragedy to Hamlet's birth blew my mind – I was sniffling through the whole finale at the Globe, feeling that deep ache of parental pain mixed with creative fire. Hamnet is one such film that stays with you for a long long time. ❤️ What are your thoughts on #Hamnet, lemme know in the comments 💭

In 🎭: Hamlet Act 3, Scene 1, Hamlet tells Ophelia, "I did love you once," before immediately contradicting himself with "I loved you not" and telling her to "get thee to a nunnery". This harsh rejection is part of his "antic disposition" (feigned madness) used to alienate her, likely to protect her or to perform his madness for the hidden spying Polonius and Claudius. #AndrewScott #Hamlet #Theater

Jessie Buckley Improvised The Scream in Hamnet (2025). “That was not in the script. That was something that came up on the second take of three takes because I loved that little boy and I had gone on a huge journey with him and with Paul and with the idea of motherhood.” - Jessie Buckley She’s the heavy favorite to win the Best Actress Oscar at the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, and deservedly so. Do you think Jessie Buckley will win an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role?👇 #jessiebuckley #hamnet #paulmescal #hamnetmovie #hamlet

Kitsch? A dangerous word. Is Hamnet kitsch? If so, is that a bad thing? Is it even relevant? A film either works or it doesn’t. I was blown away by it. Shakespeare stripped of myth. Agnes. The family they build. The difficult parts of a marriage, and the tender ones. It’s all beautifully rendered. The way “To be or not to be” is woven into Shakespeare’s grief, the way Hamlet is staged within the film... Partly because I’m a huge admirer of the Bard, yes, but also because the film undeniably works. It hits all the right buttons. And that might be precisely the problem. For me, kitsch begins when an aesthetic instrument is deployed with extreme self-awareness to produce a single, predetermined emotional response; one that resonates in exactly the same way with everyone. The final scene genuinely moved me. But at the very same moment, I became aware that everyone in the room was feeling it too, at exactly the same time. I could sense how carefully that emotion had been orchestrated. And that awareness made me feel not only moved, but strangely trapped rather than free. The emotional architecture is meticulous: the grieving mother, the tears, the intensity of Paul Mescal, the swelling score. We are guided into a particular state of feeling. The opposite of this, to me, is abstraction. Listening to Schumann, for instance, or watching Bresson, how one feels is not dictated. They may not even know what you will feel. They are not pressing buttons; they are expressing something of themselves. So yes, I do think Hamnet is kitsch. There is little room to breathe. Even the performance style, intense, almost American in its method. feels different from the restraint one associates with British stage tradition. And yet: I had a great time. The only reason this question matters is that I sense people are elevating the film beyond what it actually does. Instead of loving it for its emotional power, they are already hailing it as a masterpiece. One last thing: I prefer good kitsch over bad irony. So even if I sound critical, bring me more of this. #hamnet #paulmescal #shakespeare #arthousecinema #oscarnominee @mubi #filmkritiek #hamlet #williamshakespeare

This is one of my favourite plays of all time. This is such an interesting question…does our conscience make us cowardly…? At what point does reflection (e.g., on empathy, love, compassion) before taking a major action forward (e.g., a violent one) make us weak and feeble or strong and wise? If you haven’t read this play, Hamlet…Hamlet is here, contemplating murder, which in many ways he feels, is righteous. I think Andrew Scott does a beautiful job here. #shakespeare #monologue #poweroftheatre #dramatherapy #holisticpsychologist #yogapsychologist #theatre #plays #hamlet #conscience #andrewscott #andrewscotthamlet
