Wait until you see how much learning is packed into these little blocks! I printed these number blocks on my @creality3d K2 Plus Combo 3D printer and I know that they are going to become one of those materials that we keep finding new ways to use. Each block is sized to match the value it represents. So, the 1 block is the shortest and the 10 is the tallest. It’s such a simple design, but it opens up so much playful learning. I’m imaging our learners stacking to explore number combinations, lining them up to compare quantities, even problem-solving when a tower doesn’t balance just right. I will be so excited for that moment when someone realizes 2 + 3 = the same height as 5? Magic. I can already hear how much math talk will come from this…words like “equal,” “taller,” “more,” and “same” will be popping up naturally in their conversations. They’ll be building number sense without worksheets. It’ll all be happening through play. I love that they will be able to explore ideas like part-part-whole, magnitude, equality, and even early equations with their hands. It just makes the learning stick in a different way. What would your learners do with a set like this? How else could we use them? I’m thinking dramatic play, loose parts, even block centre. Let me know what comes to mind. Soup is a daily favorite at Happy Girl, and many guests stop by just to see what’s simmering or to grab a jar for an easy, nourishing meal. As winter settles in, this workshop is a great way to build your soup-making skills and expand your recipe collection. In this hands-on evening class, Suzanne will show you how to make a simple vegetable stock and streamline the soup-making process. Together, we’ll prepare three different soups, and you’ll take home a quart of each to enjoy in the days ahead. While cooking side by side, we’ll share helpful prep and kitchen techniques you can use at home. Using the freshest local, seasonal ingredients, we’ll create a wholesome meal from scratch and enjoy it together at the end of class. Participants will also receive a packet of recipes. Please note any dietary restrictions when registering, and we’ll accommodate when possible. This workshop tends to fill quickly—reserve your spot early!
