B.I’m always honored when someone asks me to create a traditional Filipino tattoo. It’s more than art—it’s a living connection to our ancestors.
Before modern machines, our people practiced batok, hand-tapped tattooing passed down through generations. Each mark was earned, not just chosen. Warriors carried symbols of bravery, journeys, and identity etched into their skin. The process was slow, intentional—using natural inks, hand-carved tools, and steady rhythm. Pain wasn’t something to avoid; it was part of the story, part of the transformation.
When I’m invited to do this work, I carry that history with me. I think about the hands before mine, the stories they told, and the responsibility to honor them properly. Every line is a reminder that this isn’t just about design—it’s about culture, respect, and keeping a tradition alive.
Grateful to be trusted with something so meaningful. 🙏 #tatak #traditionalfilipinotattoo #filipinotattoo #filipinotattooartist🇵🇭 #handtappedtattoo
