THComment DRILLS and I’ll send you info for the Drawing Drills course.
Crosshatching a sphere isn’t about filling space.
It’s about following the form.
When your lines curve around the surface of the sphere, they describe volume, direction, and depth all at once. Flat hatching flattens form. Curved hatching makes it feel solid.
Exercises like this train:
• Line control
• Hand-eye coordination
• Seeing form in 3D
• Shading with intention instead of guessing
Drawing Drills is built around fundamentals like this so your shading explains form, not just value.
