FI🏫 Last week was an awesome training day working with a great group of students from the local SHSM manufacturing program 🙌
We spent time hands-on learning how to properly wear and inspect fall-protection harnesses across different environments—industrial facilities, construction sites, and warehousing operations. The group was engaged, asked great questions, and made the session highly interactive as we also reviewed fall-protection systems, lockout/tagout, and fire safety.
✅ 3 quick reminders for wearing your fall-protection harness correctly:
1. Chest strap position – Keep it mid-chest (sternum level). Too high or too low can affect how forces are distributed in a fall.
2. D-ring location – Your dorsal D-ring should sit between your shoulder blades, not down your back or up near your neck.
3. Leg strap snugness – Snug, not loose. You should be able to fit a flat hand between the strap and your leg—secure without restricting movement.
Huge thanks to the students for bringing the energy and focus. This is how safe work habits start—early, practical, and done right.
