MAIt's time for another AC/DC classic off of the Back in Black album!
Aside from the guitar solo in Back in Black, the one in Hells Bells is probably the most well known solo off of the album. It's definitely a really fun and rewarding solo to play. It's actually kinda hard to stop playing it, once you figured out all the details, haha! Hope you all enjoy it as well! :D
Regarding the gear, we are back with my usual AC/DC rig: 1969 Gibson SG going into the Crazy Tube Circuits Golden Ratio and the Solodallas SVDS Boost and from there on out into the Engl Artist Edition. I used the same blend of impulse responses as I did in my last AC/DC post (U67 & U47 on a G12-65) and even if it's documented that only U67s and U87s were used for micing the guitar cabs on Back in Black, I have to admit that the U67/U47 blend got me closest to Angus' Back in Black guitar tone. Beyond happy with the tone I achieved here!🥳

"Back in Black" by AC/DC was written as a celebratory, rather than mournful, tribute to their late lead singer, Bon Scott, who died in February 1980. Released in 1980, the song served as a defiant comeback for the band, marking the debut of new vocalist Brian Johnson, whose lyrics aimed to honor Scott's wild life and legacy with lines like "Forget the hearse 'cause I never die".
The title and song reflect the band's, and particularly the Young brothers', decision to continue after Scott's death, choosing to celebrate him rather than dwell on the tragedy.
Back in Black" remains relevant today, featuring prominently in pop culture, TikTok trends, and continuing to inspire rock acts.
AC/DC's "Back in Black" is used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most notably as the opening song in Iron Man (2008) and later in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). It acts as a theme for Tony Stark, representing his rockstar persona. Other AC/DC songs used in the MCU include
"Shoot to Thrill" and "Hells Bells".

ROIt's been 45 years since @acdc released their seventh studio album, Back in Black 🔔 This was the first album featuring the band's new lead singer, Brian Johnson, the previous vocalist of rock outfit Geordie. Composed by Angus Young, Malcom Young, and Brian Johnson, Back In Black was produced by record producer Mutt Lange and exploded with the singles "Hells Bells", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Rock and Roll ain't Noise Pollution", and of course "Back In Black. AC/DC was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
