Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006), often called Ice Age 2, is the second movie in the Ice Age franchise. As the glaciers begin melting, Manny, Sid, and Diego discover that their valley will soon flood—forcing them to embark on a journey to higher ground. Along the way, Manny meets Ellie, another mammoth who believes she’s a possum, adding humor and heart to the adventure. With colorful animation, fast-paced comedy, and Scrat’s endless acorn chaos triggering even more disasters, The Meltdown delivers bigger action while highlighting friendship and belonging.

While Australia is famous for spiders and at times, massive flood-driven web infestations that cover landscape like snow. Rather an extreme, often exaggerated reaction to, or a way to deal with intense infestations of spiders. Particularly after flooding events, the practice is used to clear massive, dense or annoying webs from homes and fences. In rare cases, it’s also to manage large numbers of spiders seeking higher ground. Following heavy rains or floods, spiders may move to higher ground, resulting in massive, blanket-like webs over trees, fences, and signs, which people might try to clear.Warm and humid conditions in Australia, particularly in the northern and central parts, create an ideal environment for spiders, leading to increased population sizes. Flood emergency reported at Keiki Beach A viewer reached out around 2:52 a.m. saying they were trapped at a friend’s house near Keiki Beach, with cars reportedly floating and water rising overhead. The video shared with me appears to show severe flooding in the area overnight. If you’re anywhere near floodwater, do not try drive or walk through it. Turn around, get to higher ground, and stay put if moving would put you in more danger. Floodwater can rise fast and hide strong currents, debris, deep holes, and downed lines. If anyone in the area has updates, road conditions, or additional footage, please send them in. Mahalo to everyone who continues sending tips, info, and real time locations so we can help keep the community aware.

The low-lying areas of Haleʻiwa, Waialua and Mokulēʻia on the North Shore of Oʻahu were overwhelmed by catastrophic flooding early on Friday morning, prompting county alerts to residents to evacuate or move to higher ground. “If you are trapped, go to the highest level,” the Honolulu emergency department wrote in an emergency alert at 3:42 a.m. “Stay out of attics without a way to the roof.” An emergency shelter was opened at Waialua High and Intermediate School and running on generators. Just before 8 a.m., the National Weather Service extended a flash flood emergency warning to the northern half of Oʻahu, emphasizing that even with rains subsiding some, runoff continues and more rain is on the way. The county urged residents to avoid rushing water that could sweep them away and advised reserving 911 only for life threatening emergencies. Saturated ground and more severe than expected overnight rainfall were the culprits. Flash flooding came on quickly. The county’s alerts urged the community to evacuate Haleʻiwa and Waialua immediately, in the middle of the night, but it’s unclear how passable roads were even then. Videos on social media show homes, cars and roads inundated with fast-moving floodwater. Racquel Achiu, a member of the North Shore Neighborhood Board, said she couldn’t believe what was happening at her Waialua farm, with water rising so quickly, over the course of an hour. Sirens were going off. Her family was in the dark, without electricity, and water was “chest high” in her pasture, she said, where she waded out to save livestock from drowning. “We are completely cut off,” she said in a text to Civil Beat early Friday morning. “Can’t see a damn thing… It’s so bad.” 🔗 Link in bio for more. 😲 When a helicopter hovers or lands, its spinning rotors force huge volumes of air straight downward (called downwash), creating wind speeds that commonly reach 60 to 100 mph (95 to 160 km/h) near the ground and even higher directly under the blades; while the actual air pressure increase is modest, the sheer airflow is powerful enough to kick up debris, flatten grass, knock over loose objects, and make standing difficult, which is why helicopters can create dust clouds, spray water outward, and require clear landing zones despite not feeling like a “crushing” pressure wave. A powerful and sobering scene captured today, February 6th, 2026, as the coastlines of Indonesia face an overwhelming surge that has transformed residential streets into a zone of urgent crisis. The raw footage shows the sheer scale of the water’s power as it rushes inland, leaving communities with only seconds to react and seek higher ground. It’s a stark and heavy reminder of the unpredictable strength of our oceans and the vulnerability of coastal regions in the face of such a massive natural event. As we witness these unfolding moments, the focus remains on the safety and resilience of the people on the ground and the emergency responders working tirelessly to manage the impact. Our thoughts are with everyone navigating this difficult situation—stay safe, stay informed, and look out for one another as the community begins the long road of recovery.”

When I thought I’d never truly find it, I thought confidence needed to feel like I had achieved the “higher ground.” I wanted to feel like I was looking down on the battle and knew I’d be fine because I had better position, leverage, a better vantage point. And confidence with preparation or experience can feel like this. But we don’t need to wait to move or think confidently. What I didn’t embody as a player was: Just because I didn’t have the years I needed to get that type of safety and stability in myself, didn’t mean I should feel “less than” in my own skin. It didn’t mean I needed to compare myself to those that put on a better front or actually had the years of experience. It meant: my role was to move with purpose to create that free feeling. Instead of shrinking or gritting my teeth and hoping others didn’t notice my self-talk: I should learn myself, prepare in the little things, go to work as a student of the game. When I watch players that have “it,” I notice… as long as they are standing on solid ground- they can compete and attack. They don’t need the higher ground. They can scrap and fight because they play like they have already earned each step they’ve taken. Each step securing a new position; each learning opportunity…should be celebrated. Everyone wants to FEEL confident and at peace or READY. But often I see two groups in lessons: 1. Those that want to skip finding solid ground 2. Those that are waiting until they find HIGHER GROUND Solid ground means you’ve sacrificed, you understand who you are, you operate according to shared standards of the team you’re on. Once you have that, you can carry the responsibility to LEAD yourself. THAT is the beginning of the ultimate confidence. Before then, playing confident will feel inconsistent. It will feel like a fight inside yourself instead of a battle with the other team. Step 1: Gain awareness of where you’re at- how effective are you when you compete; as a teammate? Have you bought in? Or are you waiting for someone else to give you the answer? Step 2: Dive into the process of growing yourself. Create routine, find perspective, study, train, prepare. Step 3: On solid ground…compete.

After months of careful preparation, Thong Suk began a new chapter today. He was moved to higher ground—safe from flooding—traveling in a sturdy steel crate, the very one that once carried Kaavan from Pakistan to Cambodia. We are so proud of him. He entered the crate calmly and cooperated with the team without fear. Once released into his temporary new home, a natural grassland , ThongSuk was content—eating nonstop with joyful relief. Our team is gradually relocating all male elephants to safer areas. ChangYim will be next, as Hope is in musth at the moment.
