MATo all the DMs in my Inbox - This is for you :)
Interview dates are close and you can typically expect them to start calling you from February 1st week onwards. Interviews typically go on till mid April. The extremities, that are Early February and April are usually for cities where IIMs are located.
📖 Here is your complete guide for the preparation:
✨ Start by reading newspaper daily
Did this for 2 to 3 months. It helped me build confidence around current affairs and every thing that was going on around the world. They can ask you about current affairs in interviews, so be prepared. (I read @the_hindu )
✨ Make notes of important events
This included events like the budget, AI Summit, Pollution issues, any latest protests, policy changes, and most importantly, Trump’s tantrums. (Vantage by @palkisharmaupadhyay was my key resource!)
✨ Know about all the cities that you have lived in
You should know the history, the current scenario and the politics and culture of all the cities that you have been born and brought up or worked or studied in. (@youtube and @wikipedia )
✨ Know your industry and firm, especially if you have work Experience
You should know who are the major players, competitors to your firm, what are the latest developments, where the industry is heading to and why you are passionate about it. You should know your companies numbers like Capex, share value. (Sources: @chatgpt ,fin reports)
✨ Practice HR questions
This is extremely important. You should be able to give answers to questions like ‘tell me about yourself’, ‘why MBA?’, ‘What are your short-term long-term goals’, ‘what are your strengths and weaknesses’ - very confidently and promptly. Practice them but don’t let them look like they are artificially framed or you don’t mean them. (@googlegemini helped me articulate)
✨ Basics of undergrad and high school
Since I am an engineer, I focused on physics, maths and electronics since that was my stream. If they ask you questions in these subjects by chance and you don’t know them, it might appear very off as you are a professional and you will need to be proficient in basic things.
