MYWe often label people as
“too emotional” or “emotionless.”
But these aren’t opposites.
They’re two survival responses to the same wound.
One person learned
If I make my pain loud enough, someone will finally see me.
The other learned
If I feel nothing, no one can hurt me again.
One explodes.
The other disappears.
Neither is emotional maturity.
Neither is bad.
Both are unfinished coping strategies.
Real emotional maturity isn’t controlling feelings.
It’s staying present while they move through you
without dumping them on others
and without abandoning yourself.
If this landed, it’s not because you’re broken.
It’s because you’re becoming aware.
And awareness is where healing actually starts.
