Effects:
🫧 “Dark” filter effect: this one’s great for creating reels with text on screen.
I use it because it makes the text easier to read.
It also gives an aesthetic look to your reel.
🫧 Speed adjustment: in the editing screen, I often adjust the speed of clips to make sure they fit with the audio I chose.
This is a strategy I use to help with watch time on my reels which leads to higher views. And to make reels loop.
🫧 Edit cover feature: I use this to find the best thumbnail for my reel. Or to upload my own.
Having a good thumbnail can make more people click on your reels when they visit your page.
🫧 Blurry Background: I love using the “portrait mode” to blur the background on my reel.
It gives the video a polished look. And it hides mess or other people in the background.

MATry these IG Effects when creating a reel or story!
I bet you didn’t know you don’t need professional editing skills to make fancy edits like this. I do all of mine right inside the Intsagram app.
FIRST, save this effect by going to your camera in stories, swipe all the way to the right until you see the magnifying glass, search the effects I mention in the reel and tap the pin to save it to your favorites (you have to save effects to favorites BEFORE you create the story - just FYI).
Now👇🏼
Start a story with any photo
✅ Tap “effects” and swipe through to find “Slim Black IOS”
✅ Tap the 3 dots, tap save to save it to your camera roll so you can begin a new story with the story you just saved
✅ Tap “effects” and use “Chromatic Pulse”
✅ Tap “stickers”, choose photo, upload the original photo and place it in the center
✅ Tap “stickers”, choose cutouts, find the original photo tap “use sticker”
Add your text and that’s it!
These Instagram effects make creating professional looking story and reels SUPER easy!

🔥📸 For your Stories & Reels 👌🏼
How do you search and use a filter? TOO EASY! There are two ways:
☑️ 1) Opening a NEW REEL:
Upload your photo / video and in the bar above where the sparkles icon is ✨ you click > Then in the magnifying glass 🔎 look for the filter name and apply it.
⚠️ Clarification: Once applied, you can save it to your mobile gallery then upload it to your normal stories and so you can discard that Reel edit or else, you can directly upload that edit like any other conventional Reel.
☑️ 2) Opening a NEW STORY:
Camera mode > Swipe filters to the end and see the magnifying glass 🔎 and there you look.
⚠️ Clarification: In this case the filter will be applied to a photo you take at the moment and NOT to a previously selected one.
👉🏼 Sometimes when saving the filters, then they don't appear among the options to apply them on a background already uploaded in stories. That's why the "trick" I use is to do it first from Reels (as I explain in point 1)
Remember: Your Stories are a valuable tool to connect with your audience and grow your business. Focus on providing value and maintaining a professional image.

JAHere’s what everyone has been requesting. A real tutorial without “Read caption” 😁

There are two filters available. I recommend saving both to see which one suits your style better.
✨Day Star: Creates a brighter image with lifted shadows and warm, greenish tones. It’s perfect for dark and challenging lighting situations.
✨Day Star 2.0 - same look as the original but if you want less exposure and dark shadows this one is for you. Perfect for sunny or bright situations.
Another way to save:
1. Go to my Instagram page
2. Go to filter tab ✨
3. Save Day Star filter.
4. Apply it on your reel/stories
I can’t see the filter tab:
#1 When you created a reel, make sure to click ✨ logo above and search for Day Star and Day Star 2.0 or Jazzie / Jazzie Sillona.

have you ever try these filters? yap! actually this is not my first time, this combo is really recommended for city ambience video, this one will give you an instant dark forest look!
but using 1 filter for all isn’t my thing, i have to get more flexibility during the color grading, and i combined it with one of my favorite filters.
And here are some tips:
If you’re still questioning how to add 2 or more filters into 1 clip using @capcutapp , let me explain.
1. If you’re using CapCut mobile, click at your video then duplicate, then click one of the video then look for overlay, then click overlay
2. After you click overlay, make sure you have 2 clips at the same length of time. after that, click Mask, then select the area from the clip that you want to differentiate.
3. Now you have 2 exact same video with double layer, then you can put different filters or color settings.
But please, note that those adjustments (brightness, contrast etc.) are not the same on every clips! you need to match the lighting & color tone on your video.
here’s some tips to improve your editing skills, especially in terms of color grading :
- use masking tool to make some different ambiences in selected areas, you can also add more filters or LUT to your selective area using masking tool. this is how i put 2 different filters into 1 video.
- use HSL to change some selective colors, i strengthen the green colors & apply more lights on the skin tone.
- and the last one, if you didn’t like my adjustment, you still able to change its mood using curves & color wheel to increase or decrease the RGB’s atmospheres as you like.

📕SAVINGS EFFECTS IN STORIES
1. Go to create a new story just like you usually would
2. Instead of selecting and image, then searching an effect, you must go to the CAMERA to search effects in stories
3. Tap the magnifying glass at the end of your saved effects.
4. Type magnifying glass again once you get into effect search screen
5. Type effect you want to search.
✅ Note: STORIES only allows you to see effect in camera mode, not on your image
✅ Contrary to REELS, STORY effects take 3-4 hours at times to show up in your saved effects
🎥 SAVING EFFECTS IN REELS
1. Start a new reel and insert your image
2. Go to sparkles tab to get to effects search screen
3. Search effect and you can see it in real time on your image
4. Save it and use it immediately in reels if you choose
💥BONUS: Tap on creator of the effect you chose and it will take you to their page where you can see what else they created.
