SOIntercession is not for people who like attention.
It is for people who are willing to be emptied.
If God has called you to stand in the gap, the first thing He will deal with is not your gift. It is your grip. What you are holding onto will decide how far He can trust you.
Here are five things every real intercessor has to surrender.
1. Your need to be seen
If you need applause, prayer will turn into performance.
Some of the strongest intercessors are hidden.
God does His deepest work in people who are comfortable being unseen.
2. Your desire to control outcomes
Intercession is not telling God what to do.
It is agreeing with what He already wants done.
You have to let go of timelines, methods, and expectations.
Pray the will of God, not your preference.
3. Offense and unforgiveness
You cannot pray clearly with a wounded heart.
Offense will block your discernment.
Unforgiveness will drain your authority.
If you are going to carry people in prayer, you cannot stay bitter toward them.
4. The urge to say everything God shows you
Everything revealed is not meant to be repeated.
Some things are for prayer only.
If God cannot trust your mouth, He will limit what He shows you.
Maturity knows when to pray and when to stay quiet.
5. The savior mindset
You are not the Holy Spirit.
You cannot fix people.
You cannot carry what God never assigned you to carry.
Intercessors burn out when they think everything depends on them.
Your job is obedience. God handles the rest.
Intercession will stretch you.
It will humble you.
But if you surrender properly, it will also keep you covered.
