For ten days in Kupang, nineteen Pacific kin gathered, carrying ancestral stories through dance and song. Each person brought their own cultural markings, braided together into the living body of the performance.
Within this residency, our music-making companions are held in deep regard. @alfred_mofu and @tata_presley walked beside us as composer-arranger kin—listening, shaping, and allowing sound to rise in its own time.
In the same breath, gratitude is offered to two artistically gifted students from @isbitanahpapua ~> @dopa_isbi_tanpa , @stevenkawer12 and @diegoyom11 —whose generosity, attentiveness, and steady hands supported every movement. It was a beautiful chance for @emma_jarst to gain new friends and heartfelt connections
From the currents of your movements and steps, the voices of culture, and the act of exchange itself, I learned the wisdom of being human.
