📚 If reading more is one of your goals this year, good news: You don’t need a Kindle. Your iPad can be one. Here’s how I turned my iPad into a distraction-free reading machine 👇 ✨ 1: Make the screen Kindle-like Get a matte / paper-like screen protector. It cuts glare and gives that soft Kindle-ish feel to your eyes. 🛠️ 2: Create a “Kindle” Focus Mode Go to Settings → Focus → Create a new Focus – Name it Kindle – Allow only one Home Screen – Keep just Kindle app + Audible (if you use it) – Block all notifications At this point, it already feels like a dedicated Kindle. ⚡ 3: Automate it with Shortcuts Open the Shortcuts app and toggle on my shortcut called Reading On. What it does: – Turns on Kindle Focus automatically – Switches your iPad to black & white mode (game-changer for focus) 📩 Don’t want to build it yourself? Comment “Send” and I’ll DM you the shortcut. (You’ll still need to create the Kindle Focus once for it to work.) 🔄 4: Reading Off = back to normal I’ve also made a Reading Off shortcut that instantly brings your iPad back to full color and normal mode. I’ll send both. 📖 Bonus Kindle App Tip (don’t skip this) In the Kindle app: Tap Aa → More → Turn ON Page Turn Animation Trust me — it changes the whole reading experience. 🧳 Final touch If possible, invest in a good iPad case. Mine’s from ESR, and it makes reading super comfortable. ✨ That’s it. One iPad. Zero distractions.
