How I’m prepping for Year of the Horse! Growing up the amas in Binondo would always wear their jade bangles since it is believed to offer good health, protection, wealth, and longevity. Once it breaks, it has absorbed the pai mia (misfortune) and has done its purpose. I always thought of it as for “lao he ya” (for old ppl lol) and I cringed and go that’s so lan nang (that’s so Chinese) but well well well look at the turn tables (look how the tables have turned lol).
