Kepler-22b is a planet about 600 light-years away and sits in the “habitable zone,” meaning it could support liquid water.
But scientists have not detected grass, oil, or confirmed life there.
And that “$5,000 trillion in oil” claim?
There’s no verified data behind it.
Oil requires very specific conditions:
• Long-term biological life
• Geological pressure over millions of years
• A stable ecosystem we have not confirmed on Kepler-22b
From a financial perspective, even if resources existed, they’re completely unreachable with current technology. Traveling hundreds of light-years would take longer than human civilization has existed.
The real takeaway is this:
Space expands what’s possible.
But turning that into value is still far away.
Sometimes the biggest numbers… are just speculation.
