FEELING YOUR PLANTED LEG IN GLUTE MEDIUS KICKBACKS? I constantly get asked “why am I feeling my planted leg so much in a glute medius kickback?” It’s normal because that leg is still working to stabilize for the working leg. So feeling this movement a lot in your non-working leg is not a bad thing, because it still has to do work to stabilize the pelvis and work against the load. Here are some tips to implement to help you feel less of this non-working leg… 1️⃣Brace your core 2️⃣Brace against something, hold onto the cable machine. If you’re not, you are now working even harder to balance, harder than you should be. 3️⃣Lean slightly. You don’t want to lean too much as you will then be limiting the degree of hip extension you can get, but a slight lean can help you to better stabilize. I like to do these once a week on my hamstring/ upper glute day at the beginning of the workout, or at the end. Comment if you’d like to know the best glute training split. .
