SAA walk through old ITI Colony… the way many of our elders remember it. ❤️
Past the ITI Factory, under the blue ITI arches,
the old ITI Hospital,
then Jawaharlal Nehru Park and Vidyamandir School buzzing with kids.
The iconic blue ITI buses passing by…
and then reaching ITI Circle.
State Bank of India, the Post Office,
Bantia Stores and his calm smiling presence, SNK Stores,
and that uncle serving the legendary Neelgiris bun-butter-jam.
The early morning rush at VSS Enterprises, with boys folding newspapers for delivery…
the small vegetable market behind the complex,
the flour mill, cloth stores, dry cleaning shops, and the old saloon.
Walking further into the colony…
ITI Karnataka Sangha,
the beautiful Theatre Road with its cherry-blossom-like stretch,
and finally the ITI Theatre — pure nostalgia.
My first movie here was probably Jurassic Park.
Opposite it — the grounds where floodlight cricket matches brought the whole neighbourhood together.
