AGLighting can make or break a space. We all know what bad lighting looks and feels like, but good lighting can be difficult to achieve. So here are some lighting tips that can help your space feel more welcoming.
1) Layer your lighting sources. Don’t rely on the Big Light. It will make everything feel flat and cold. With layered lighting, you create zones and regions within your space, making everything look more intentional.
2) Adjust the color temperature. The color temperature of a bulb reflects what color it emits. A “cooler” bulb will emit blue light, and a “warmer” bulb will emit orange light. We recommend using warmer bulbs for your residential space, since it creates a softer, cozier feeling.
3) Place with intention. The lighting sources in your space creates a flow, similar to large furniture pieces. Lights, in corners especially, can be used to fill visual voids and to make your space look more complete.
Try it yourself. Adjust the lighting situation in your space and try to feel the difference. You’ll noticed how subtle yet profound the effect lighting has in your space. For more design tips like this, follow us!
