Bandipora, Nov 10: The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department Hajin today completed macadamization work at Kathpora Hajam Mohalla in Bandipora district, bringing relief and satisfaction to local residents.
Locals expressed their gratitude to the R&B Department for undertaking the long-pending work, stating that they had been waiting for road macadamization for nearly two decades.
Speaking to the media, residents said, “We have been waiting for macadamization for the past 20 years. Today, our long-standing demand has finally been fulfilled, and we are thankful to the R&B Department Hajin for taking this initiative.”
The locals further mentioned that the road had been in a dilapidated condition for years, causing immense inconvenience to commuters and residents alike. They also requested the authorities to macadamize the remaining stretches of the road that are still in poor condition to ensure smooth connectivity for the entire area.

Kulgam, — In a significant development for the residents of Behbroda Bolsoo District Development Council (DDC) Member from Qaimoh-B, Mohd Abass Rather, inaugurated the long-awaited macadamization of the village's interior roads today. The project marks a crucial milestone in fulfilling the local community's long-standing demand for improved road infrastructure.
The initiative received widespread appreciation from the villagers, who credited senior CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, for addressing their persistent plea. Speaking at the event, residents expressed joy and gratitude, noting that this was the first time their village roads had been macadamized.
“After the delimitation process, our village became part of the Kulgam constituency. We had witnessed visible development in the area and remained hopeful that our inclusion would bring similar progress. Today’s work is a symbol of that promise taking shape,” said one of the local residents.
