KEI DIYed my pro makeup kit! (Putting this fashion degree to use 😂)
I was inspired by @alexissymoneartistry on Instagram and by the Étoile makeup bags.
Here’s what I did:
- I measured and sewed the elastic on to the one side of the Velcro - the rough side. (I was just winging the measurements - might do another one with different sizes).
- I then cut out the left half of those pockets (I kept about half a cm of fabric next to that middle stitching so it doesn’t fray and come apart).
- Looked at where I wanted to place my Velcro - the fluffy side - then applied double side take to the back of it and stuck it to the bag.
- Lastly I stuck on the sewed up piece of velcro & put my pencils & mascara in the wholes I sectioned out.
This layout just makes sense to me. I’m always losing shorter items in these pockets an this is such a great solution!
Also I used Velcro in case I want to change up the sectioning sizes so it can be easily interchangeable.
And don’t know if the double sided tape is going to last. If not, and I like how this system works, I will probably glue it on.
