GLA terrifying high-speed pile-up rocked the women's Milano-Sanremo on the technical descent of the Cipressa with under 20 km to go.
Italian cyclist Debora Silvestri (Laboral Kutxa) went headfirst over a roadside barrier, falling several meters onto the road below while avoiding fallen riders.
She was conscious and rushed to hospital → diagnosis: five broken ribs + micro-fracture in the shoulder.
Silvestri later posted: "It could have been worse." She's stable and facing recovery time, but thankfully avoided far more serious injury in one of the most dramatic crashes of the 2026 spring classics. Thoughts with Debora and all riders involved
