If your muscles are cold, you’re not just playing slower; you’re inviting injury. This dynamic routine is designed to wake up your nervous system and prep your joints for those deep lunges and overhead clears. The Pre-Game Blueprint: 1. Split Step (Left & Right): The foundation of all footwork. This preps your calves and gets your timing in sync for the opponent’s bird. 2. Light Jogging: Get the blood flowing and the core temperature up. A few laps are all it takes to shift into “game mode.” 3. Side Steps: Focus on the lateral movement. This wakes up the glutes and hips, ensuring you’re ready to cover the width of the court. 4. Sideways Shuffles: Faster, more athletic lateral bursts. Keep your center of gravity low—this is where your defensive speed comes from! 5. Semi-Step Leg Raises: Dynamic stretching for the hamstrings and hip flexors.
