For a long time, I thought leadership meant being collaborative, informed, and careful. But what I eventually realized was that I had slowly started outsourcing my authority. I would check with my coach before making a move. I would watch how the audience responded before standing fully behind an idea. I would look at the numbers and wait for them to “confirm” what I already knew in my gut. I would ask the team what they thought before deciding what I believed. On the surface, that can look responsible. Strategic, even. But underneath it all, it meant my leadership was externally anchored. And externally anchored leaders build on a shaky foundation. The problem with a shaky foundation is that it can still hold weight for a while. That’s why many people can reach six figures while constantly checking for approval, validation, or consensus before they act. The business still grows because the strategy might be sound. But millions demand something different. At that level, the speed of decision-making increases. The stakes increase. The visibility increases. And if your leadership depends on constant outside confirmation, the entire structure slows down or collapses under pressure. Seven-figure leadership requires internal stability, the ability to trust your judgment, stand in your authority, and move decisively even when the data isn’t fully clear yet. Most people don’t realize that the way they process decisions is actually wired into their leadership pattern. Your archetype determines whether you: Overseek validation from others Overanalyze data before moving Overconsult advisors instead of trusting your instincts None of these patterns make you incapable of success.
