SCIN-PERSON CASTING! Get best runway walk!
DO'S:
- Do read the instructions & directions from casting.
- Do know what kind of runway show you are walking! Researching the client, designer, agency, etc will show you what kind of walk they are expecting.
- Get the right wardrobe & heels! Stick to the basics! Unless instructed to wear otherwise of course. Go for fitted clothing without any visible brands, lace, sheer, or shiny elements that will distract. Ladies, keep things simple with plain black jeans or leggings, a tank top & black open toe heels. 1/2" platform with max 4" inch thin heel. It's important to show your body shape in your movement so all extra layers/accessories will only distract casting from looking at your walk.
- Do keep your hair natural & down to present texture, color, cut & length. Casting doesn't want to guess what kind of hair you have & ask what you really look like! That's embarrassing right? Especially at casting!
- Do keep your makeup at a minimum. Think blush, lipgloss & mascara only. False lashes are a big no! Casting is looking at how you take care of your skin, nails, hair. Dry skin? Acne? Broken nails? Peeled off nail polish on toes? These are all signs of a model not taking care of themselves.
- Do practice! Every client, designer, agency is different & will ask for different walks. Your job is to present all possible options based on your research.
- Do break in new heels. To avoid injury, pain & bloody feet, practice walking on different heels so all heels will walk comfortably.
DON'TS
- Don't be late! Late means, your modeling is not a priority.
- Don't think you can get away with forgetting to bring the right clothes/shoes. It just shows you're not prepared.
- Don't think you can get away with excuses or complaining, this prevents you from showing your best. A professional model is prepared for all types of challenges (even parking!)
- Don't get distracted or discouraged by others. You are at a casting for you!
- Don't be shy or mean to others! We want to see your personality & connect with you! And mean girls really don't win.

✅Comp Cards: Composite cards, or comp cards, are like a model’s business card, featuring several images and key statistics (height, measurements, etc.). Bring them to your Castings.
✅Practice: Practice walking, posing, and expressing different emotions in front of a mirror or camera.
✅Punctuality: Always arrive on time. Being late can make a bad impression.
✅Appearance: Wear simple, form-fitting clothing and minimal makeup to show off your natural features. Bring heels if it’s a runway casting.
✅Confidence: Exude confidence but remain humble. Casting directors are looking for poise and professionalism.
✅Be Prepared: Be ready to take direction, walk, pose, and possibly read lines if it’s for a commercial or acting role.
✅Politeness: Treat everyone with respect, from the receptionist to the casting director.
✅Patience: Decisions can take time. Be patient and continue attending other castings.
