If you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, @CathysCritters in Princeton is a fun day trip, starting at just $11!
About an hour northeast of Dallas, this animal farm focuses on education and positive, up-close interactions with both domesticated and exotic animals. The team was incredibly friendly, and you can tell they truly care about the animals and the experience!
WHAT YOU’LL SEE
There are so many animals that we couldn’t even name them all! From reptiles and amphibians to rodents and marsupials, it felt like every corner had something new. Meeting the sloths and kangaroos was definitely a highlight, and we loved feeding the pigs, goats, and their camel Romeo, who even has a party trick!
Farm dogs and cats roam the property too, so there’s always something happening as you explore.
OPEN FARM HOURS
Weather permitting, Open Farm includes access to the petting zoo, Outback Tour, exotic animals, pony rides, and more on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.

PRIVATE TOURS
If you want an even more hands-on experience, book a weekday private tour for close-up encounters with animals like the sloth, camel, kangaroos, highland cows, baby goats, coatis, and more! Private tours also include an exotic animal presentation, petting zoo, Outback Tour, and pony rides.
Tours start at $150 an hour for groups of 8, and $250 an hour for 9-15 people!
If you’ve been wanting a unique, family-friendly adventure just outside of Dallas, this one is definitely worth the drive! Make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, as it is a farm afterall!
