Awesome scenic walk near Melbourne 😍 - Yesterday I was checking out some local trails in Warrandyte when I stumbled upon this beauty! This is the Mount Lofty Loop Walk, a moderate 5km trail which will take you past plenty of native wildlife, serene riverside picnic spots and jawdropping views across the Yarra Valley. The walk starts at the Witton’s Reserve car park and takes you past gum trees and tea trees before rising to the summit of Mount Lofty for some epic views. This hike will definitely spike your adrenaline! The traverse from Hollow Mountain to Mt Stapylton is a classic and incredibly adventurous day walk and is considered one of the best in Victoria. It’s hard to argue against this claim (so long as you like rock scrambling and exposure, which I very much do!). A forewarning - don’t attempt this walk without having considerable rock scrambling experience and a head for heights. This isn’t an easy walk, nor is it ‘safe’. For those with the right skills, however, it is a very enjoyable outing. Use good judgement to know if you have the skills for this walk. If you are unsure it's probably not a good idea! The hike is 6.5km approx. and took me 4 hours to complete - a testament to the difficulty (although, I did go in without any track notes…). 📍 Check the pinned comment for a few of my personal track notes and advice regarding this walk. #grampians #grampiansnationalpark #bushwalking #hiking #adventure #hikingaustralia #seeaustralia

The descent from one of New Zealand’s most legendary peaks is absolutely wild! Mitre Peak towers 1692m above sea level, dropping straight into the waters of Milford Sound. Yep, that water sits at exactly 0m! The climb up is already a serious challenge, and it only gets tougher the higher you go. By the final stretch, the exposure is next level. But if you thought the ascent was brutal… the way down is on a whole other level! For me, it was just too much after the 1300m point, and this footage is all @kiwi_pete climbing back down from the summit to the end of the exposed section. The terrain is steep, unforgiving, and mentally exhausting. One wrong move could be costly.
