🎒 Always remember to pack out what you pack in on your hikes in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and LEAVE NO TRACE.
This hike is one of my favorites in Tennessee and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s honestly one of the most underrated too. I feel like this a hike most people don’t hear about or skip when visiting the smokies because it’s in a more remote area of the park. There are a few trails that take you up to Mount Cammerer Via Low Gap Trail, Cosby Campground, or Appalachian Trail. I’ve only ever hiked via the Appalachian Trail and it was challenging but the views are so rewarding. The most iconic part of this hike is the historic western style fire lookout that you reach at the end of the trail, which you can actually go inside of and take in the breathtaking views of the Pigeon River Gorge and the rolling peaks of the Tennessee/North Carolina border. It is a must do hike for locals and visitors to do at least once in their life.
