VEParallel worlds probably exist. Here’s why:
Schrödinger’s cat is a famous thought experiment that helps in comprehending the quantum superposition. Although it was originally meant as a critique of quantum mechanics and its proponents.
The cat and the atom and poison system are in entangled superpositions since the state of the cat relies on the state of the atom (whether it has decayed or not) because this is what releases the poison to kill the cat.
Now the Copenhagen Interpretation of quantum mechanics, devised by Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg and Max Born, says that when an observer opens the box, the wave-function (entangled superposition) collapses and the result follows: alive cat or dead cat.
But the many worlds interpretation disagrees. Humans are made up of electrons and atoms so they are quantum objects too. This means that when a person opens the box they become entangled with the superposition too.
Hence the person becomes apart of the superposition and the cat is both alive and dead. In essence, observation/measurement is not ‘special’. You now split off into one of these ‘worlds’ e.g. the world where the cat is alive and the world where the cat’s dead is just another quantum state.
This is what Hugh Everett called the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics and is the inspiration behind multiverses in science fiction.
Fun fact: Hugh Everett’s son, Mark Everett, is the frontman of the rock band Eels!

EDQuantum entanglement is a peculiar phenomenon in physics where two or more particles become linked in such a way that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently of the state of the other(s), even when the particles are separated by a large distance.
