You Got the Callback. Now Act Like It. If you got called back for a role, that means you can play the role. Period. We are past the point of proving that you’re “good enough.” The creative team—professionals who are literally paid to decide if someone can successfully play the part—has already decided that you can. So now, the callback isn’t about proving yourself. It’s about showing them how you fit into their vision of the show. So why do we waste so much energy worrying about being “the best” in the room? Imposter syndrome will try to convince you that you’re somehow less than the other people called back. That you have to out-sing them, out-dance them, out-perform them. But that’s not your job. Your job is to prepare the material, present it well, and focus on what you can control: 🎭 Being present in the moment 🎭 Connecting with your scene partners 🎭 Understanding the relationships in the scene 🎭 Serving the other actors in the room At the end of the day, you all deserve to be there. You all could play the part. And the final decision? It won’t come down to who hit the highest note or who had the strongest belt—it will come down to what the team wants for their show. So walk into that callback knowing that you belong. Let our true love grow! 🩵 We took a lil break to clean up the school after the magic of Frozen Jr. but today we wanted to honour the kids and all their hard work. The staff team and families donated treats for the students so we could have a little cast party. We had decorations, food, juice boxes, a slideshow and had students sign each other’s cast bio page as a keepsake. @lovegrayjewelry made each student keychain with their name on it and one of the moms made custom sugar cookies for us. This is what happens when you put on a musical. The community comes together to support and celebrate.
