it’s crazy to me that no one talks about this hidden oasis to beat the heat in Arizona 🤯 located just 45 minutes from Tucson, Mt. Lemmon sits at over 9000 ft elevation. it’s roughly 30 degrees cooler than the valley, making it the perfect summer escape! it was in the 60’s when I went. you might want to bring a jacket! SAVE this itinerary to help plan your next day trip in Arizona 💯 things to do: -hike the Meadow Trail #5A. this easy 1.5 mile hike boasts lush ferns, pines, and incredible views. you can make it a loop by hiking the Mt. Lemmon Trail back to the trailhead. be sure to keep your eye out for the hidden spring on the Mt Lemmon trail. dog and family friendly. -ride the scenic chairlift at Mt. Lemmon ski valley for amazing views see their website for more information and ticket prices @officialmtlemmonskivalley -explore the quaint town of Summerhaven -check out Rose Canyon Lake. this unique lake was built by prisoners in the 1960’s and is mainly used for fishing, day use and picnicking. swimming and boating are not permitted. -stop at some of the vistas. windy point, seven cataracts and inspiration point are a few of my favorites. where to eat- 🍞 @beyondbreadbakerycafe for the best sandwiches and soups 🍔 @sawmillrun for the best scratch-made eats, this restaurant is family-owned and operated ☕️ @elevated_espresso for the best specialty coffees 🍪 The Cabin Coookie for their giant homemade cookies don’t forget to swing by the General Store for the most delicious handmade fudge. have you visited Mt Lemmon? if not, definitely add it to your list! #mtlemmon #explorearizona #arizonahiking #summergetaway #visittucson #tucsonaz #arizonaadventures #thingstodoinarizona

FEBRUARY- head down to Tucson to hike Seven Falls, a seasonal waterfall that flows after winter rains and snowmelt from Mt Lemmon. MARCH- hike the Jojoba trail at Bartlett Lake and see the spectacular wildflowers. APRIL- the perfect time to catch Sycamore Falls flowing, a seasonal waterfall near Williams. MAY- hike the Parsons Trail to a beautiful swimming hole in Sycamore Canyon. JUNE- head to Payson to cool off at beautiful Waterwheel Falls. JULY- the White Mountains are the perfect summer escape, try hiking the Thompson Trail. AUGUST- perfect temps up north in Flagstaff for hiking the Kachina Trail. SEPTEMBER- it’s shoulder season in Sedona, which means less crowds. it’s a great time to hike Cathedral Rock. OCTOBER- head north to Flagstaff to catch fall colors along the Aspen Trail Loop at Snowbowl. NOVEMBER- we have reached hiking season in the valley. Tom’s Thumb is a beautiful trail to hike for sunset. Do you find descending in a group to feel intimidating and overwhelming? That is normal as there is a lot going on as mentally you are balancing the feeling of speed with the noise, new lines, and differences of ability of the riders in the group. To help silence the noise and confusion we have four tips we have been using to train the riders in our camp. You will see they have used them well to descend down Mt Lemmon in a nice line. The four tips that will help you are: 1. Look three or more riders ahead. 2. Stay slightly off to one side of the rider that you are behind. 3. Watch the hips of the rider in front of you using your peripheral vision. 4. Choose the lines that are the best for you. Give these a shot and feel more comfortable and confident on the descents in a group!

Got close to onsighting, but needed a higher foot at the end of the crux, which was the ticket on the send!
