Traditional strategies quickly reach their limits, especially when dealing with complex rib structures or flow chambers. As an alternative approach, our technology partner @moldino_tool_engineering suggests slightly tilting the tool axis (≈1°), which offers significant advantages.
This enables:
✔️ Greater depth of cut
✔️ Better chip removal
✔️ Higher feed rate
Plunge milling offers even greater precision. With a constant feed rate and minimal deflection, even a few micrometers can be removed with precision. Something that is virtually impossible to achieve with traditional constant-Z strategies.
Additionally, “milling grooves” are created specifically in the direction of demolding.
