So, what is the best generation? There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but at NLD, we’re all in on multigenerational (aka “multigen”) doodles!💛✨ 🔎 Doodle Generations 101: 🐾 F1 (Retriever + Poodle) — 100% shed to some degree making them the least hypoallergenic 🐾 F1b (F1 doodle + Poodle) — 75% shed to some degree but there is a 25% shot at getting a true non-shedding puppy 🐾 Multigen (F1b doodle + F1b doodle or beyond) — Best odds for a low-to-non-shedding coat!🎉 (Shedding multigens are still possible😕). What is the benefit of a multigen? Consistency!✅ it takes a minimum of three generations to produce a multigen. Breeders selectively pair parents to reinforce the best in coat, temperament and health while maintaining the ideal poodle-to-retriever balance.👌 While poodles bring gorgeous color variety and the non-shedding genes, breeding too many generations back to a poodle can dilute that classic Retriever temperament, which is why doodle-to-doodle breeding is key!🏆🐶 ARE OUR PUPPIES HYPOALLERGENIC?🐶🤧 ✅ YES! Our doodles are as hypoallergenic as the poodle breed— which is as good as it gets in the dog world!
