ICBuilding a multiplex isn’t the same as building a single-family home.
Small details like this can make a big difference.
On many homes, electrical, cable, and internet lines come up from underground and run along the outside of the foundation before entering the house.
It works — but it leaves a visible bump and creates extra entry points for water, air leaks, and pests.
On multiplex builds, we handle it differently.
Before the concrete is poured, we install conduits through the foundation wall for electrical, cable, and internet lines.
So when the utilities come in from underground, they’re fed directly into the wall cavity.
The result:
• A much cleaner exterior look
• Fewer penetration points for water and air leaks
• Better protection against pests
• And because multiplexes often sit closer to lot lines, it saves nearly 10 inches of side yard walkway space
Small planning decisions during construction can have a big impact on how a building performs.
Most people never notice these details — but builders should.
