GNIn 1684, Guru Gobind Singh Ji had a special Nagara prepared. It was named Ranjit Nagara (the winner of the battle-field drum). This Nagara was done at the Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib (Sri Anandpur Sahib), as a declaration of the sovereignty of the Khalsa.
The Nagara is a symbol of the sovereignty of truth and righteousness. In every Gurdwara Sahib a Nagara is kept and played during the Ardas and when the Sangat are doing Jaikara!
