Two colors = two suits. Three = three. The distribution is RIGHT there in the colors the whole time! This one shift will make you scan the card SO much faster and pivot with actual confidence. Let’s walk through how exactly I choose a hand after the deal on mahjong! Here’s how practice: 1. Deal yourself 13 tiles. 2. Get organized, by suit and in number order within each suit. 3. Look for patterns in your tiles that indicate a SECTION on the NMJL Card. 4. Do some practice Charleston passes with yourself collecting tiles that work in your chosen section. 5. As you get new tiles, start to narrow down to a single line within your section. This is the absolute best way to improve your skill and strategy during the Charleston and get faster at choosing your hand during real gameplay!
