🚩 Cruel Joking – Those “just kidding” moments can sometimes hide bitterness, pride, or judgment. Words meant to be funny can still wound hearts and grieve the Spirit.
🚩 Speaking Curse Words Over Yourself – Not profanity, but words like “I’ll never change,” “I’m not good enough,” or “God can’t use me.” These are lies that contradict God’s truth about who you are.
🚩 Complaining and Grumbling – Constant negativity and murmuring reveal a lack of gratitude and trust in God’s plan. It blinds you from seeing His goodness in the moment.
🚩 Speaking Without Listening – Quick responses and careless words can cause damage. Sometimes we speak before we pray, and that’s when our words hurt more than help.
James warns us: “The tongue is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body... it corrupts the whole body” (James 3:6). He reminds us that with the same mouth we bless God and curse people made in His image — this should not be so.
Proverbs echoes this truth:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)
“The tongue of the wise brings healing.” (Proverbs 12:18)
Your tongue can either draw you closer to God by speaking life, gratitude, and truth — or it can separate you through gossip, complaint, and careless words. Choose life with your words, and you’ll see God’s presence flow more freely in your heart.

SANo-one is talking about Sudan, but they should be.
Sudan is the largest displacement crisis in the world, and is now facing one of the worst hunger catastrophes the world has seen in decades.
Nearly 25 million are in need of food assistance, with at least 5 million children and mothers are suffering from acute malnutrition. Famine conditions have been confirmed in parts of Sudan.
More than 10 million children—approximately one in two—have been within 5km of active conflict zones exposing them to gunfire, shelling, and other forms of deadly violence.
As a result, one child has been forced to flee their home every 10 seconds since the start of the conflict on April 2023.
But despite the staggering levels of need, this crisis is not getting the attention and meaningful political action that it so urgently deserves.
We urge the UK Government to:
🔴 Release the £120m in critical aid that was promised for Sudan in April, to help reach the people who need it most.
🔴 Put pressure on all warring parties and their international backers to secure a lasting political solution, because this is the only way to end the violence once and for all and protect children.
🔴 Ensure that humanitarian aid can reach all parts of the country and prioritise children and their families most in need.
