Murra-el-Elevyn Cave, is a significant limestone cave famous for its unique geological features and biodiversity. Part of the Nullarbor Plain, it boasts impressive stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years. The cave is also a habitat for various bat species, making it ecologically important. It attracts speleologists studying karst formations and underground ecosystems, offering a natural environment for exploration.
At about 250,000 km2, the Nullarbor is the largest block of limestone, or karst (limestone characterised by caves and underground drainage) on Earth, raised from the sea 3 million years ago. Longest straight length of railway in world, 470 km, connects the east coast to the west coast across it.
