Monte Carlo integration is a numerical method for approximating definite integrals using randomness. Instead of relying on exact formulas or fixed grids, it estimates an integral by randomly sampling points from a given interval or region and averaging the function values at those points. In one dimension, this can be thought of as choosing many random x-values and using the average height of the function to estimate the area under the curve.
