WAIn his first speech since winning NYC's mayoral race, Zohran Mamdani acknowledged that he is young, Muslim and a democratic socialist — and said he refuses "to apologize for any of this.”
Mamdani, 34, will be the youngest New York mayor in a century. Voter turnout for the race surpassed 2 million, the first time that's happened since 1969, according to the NYC Board of Elections.
"This is not only how we stop Trump, it's how we stop the next one," he said, addressing New Yorkers. "So Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you: Turn the volume up."
