EL🚨 SCOTLAND AESTHETICS LAW IS CHANGING – ARE YOU READY? 🚨
If you’re a skin or aesthetics practitioner in Scotland… this is something you cannot ignore.
New legislation for non-surgical treatments has officially been passed — and it WILL change how you work.
Here’s what you need to know 👇
The law was introduced in 2025, passed in 2026, and comes into effect on 6th September 2027.
That means you have around 18 months to become compliant.
The industry is moving from unregulated → regulated.
Treatments will now be split into High and Low risk categories:
👉 Low Risk Treatments
Like:
• Superficial chemical peels
• Microneedling up to 1.5mm
• Skin rejuvenation treatments
You’ll still be able to perform these BUT:
✔️ You must be qualified
✔️ You must be licensed
✔️ You must work from an approved premises
❌ CPD certificates will NO LONGER be enough
✅ You will need OFQUAL regulated qualifications
