SOLet’s talk about one of the most important pieces of your rush packet: your resume! 📝✨
This isn't just a boring list of clubs; it’s one of the first ways the recruitment team and alumnae get to know the amazing girl you are!! Since the chapters actually grade and score these when you register, you want yours to stand out.
Here are our top DOs and DON'Ts to make sure your resume is bid-ready:
✅ DO highlight your academic, philanthropic, and social achievements. Sororities are looking for girls who are intentional and passionate about their involvement.
✅ DO start early! Sophomore year is the sweet spot to begin tracking your hours and achievements so you aren't scrambling during your senior year.
✅ DO choose a design that’s as unique as you are. You want something polished and professional that stands out from the crowd.
❌ DON'T just download the same Etsy template everyone else is using. It's the first thing they see, so choose wisely!
❌ DON'T include weak or outdated items. A one-time involvement or an activity from middle school doesn't need to be included.
❌ DON'T use vague descriptions. Be specific about your role in any of your experiences, and quantify when possible (ex: I raised $1,500 for charity)
Remember, your resume has two big audiences: the alumnae who need it to write your recommendation letters and the recruitment team who will be scoring your packet when it’s turned in.
