One thing I’ve learned? Water actually cleans better than wipes alone.
In many parts of the world, using water is a normal part of bathroom hygiene. Pediatricians often recommend gentle rinsing with water during diaper changes, especially for babies with sensitive skin, because it helps remove residue while reducing irritation from wiping alone.
And when it comes to baby girls, keeping things clean matters even more since bacteria from the diaper area can travel more easily and increase the risk of irritation or UTIs.
Now you might be thinking… “Why not just grab a spray bottle from the store?”
Trust me — I tried that first. I actually ordered a couple spray bottles from Amazon thinking it would work the same.
The problem? Too much water and too much pressure. Every one of them startled my baby girl.
This sprayer is different. It’s a very light mist, so gentle she barely notices it, but it still helps clean effortlessly during diaper changes.
And as a first-time girl mom after five boys, I’m determined to do everything I can to keep her clean, comfortable, and hopefully prevent things like irritation or UTIs from the start.
Sometimes the best solution… is just adding a little water.

GRDiaper changes can be a hassle! Especially when baby gets a bit older and won't sit still anymore! These are some of my favorite everyday essentials for diaper changing! 🚼
To start, the Bumco is my absolute favorite item for diaper changing! I simply place the aquaphor cream directly on there and place it directly on the diaper! Then I wipe it down with a baby wipe so it's good as new for the next use! Your hands stay sticky free! Trust me, buy this if you don't have it already!
The Ubbi diaper pail is also my favorite! You're able to use any type of garbage bag but I like the Ubbi ones because you get a good amount in the box that last a while!
The disposable changing pad liners are also amazing for the unexpected leaks while you're changing baby! They're also great for when your baby is wiggling around with a poopy diaper! lGame changer!
& Overall, Huggies are my ultimate favorite diapers and wipes!

THYour baby wipes work so much better when you spray with water first. I was shocked how big of a difference this made for our baby’s skin, so if your baby’s bum is already red, try water before you wipe.
