BYIf I had to start over learning how to make luxury press on nails from scratch…
Here are 25 things I’d never do again 👇
1. Use a wobbly nail stand.
2. Skip checking if the tip sits flat before starting.
3. Use abs plastic tips instead of soft gel press on tips.
4. Ignore the little tabs from the tip mold before painting.
5. Skip wiping every tip with alcohol before prep.
6. Over buff and thin the tip until it’s flimsy.
7. Skip self leveling completely and cure bumpy nails.
8. Use a flash lamp as my main curing source.
9. Guess cure times or ignore my lamp’s specs.
10. Work under poor lighting.
11. Using gels without understanding the science of how they work.
12. Use the same brush for all types of nail art instead of knowing which one is best for what.
13. Skip finish filing and sidewall refinement.
14. Leave dust or fuz on before top coat.
15. Store gels next to my lamp or in sunlight.
16. Touch 3D gel with bare hands.
17. Adding hard gel or acrylic layers “for strength”.
18. Not wipe gel off my skin right away.
19. Skip cleaning the nails before packaging or applying.
20. Use base shades that make glue or the natural nail show through.
21. Spend money on every new color instead of investing in training.
22. Work without a repeatable process or structure.
23. Skip wearing PPE everyday.
24. Beat myself up for not being better at nail art.
25. Spend beyond my beginner budget and get into unnecessary debt.
Every beginner makes a few of these, I mean I did…..about all of them 💀🥲 and there’s probably so many more I forgot!
