If you are in a position to build muscle while losing fat you may not see a huge scale shift. That may be very frustrating and could lead to throwing in the towel 😭. Take pics and measurements often so you can see your progress in other ways. We all start somewhere. & for me, it's the story of a girl who never had too much confidence in herself, who had made her body this foreign space, who ignored all the parts of her that she didn't want to show, for whom vulnerability was a sign of weakness. It's not about doing oversplits, backbends that get lots of likes on Instagram. It's not about constantly pushing those physical limits. It's about getting to know yourself, learning to trust yourself, making that body that space that you find no matter where you are. It's learning to embody what's happening inside, to inhabit these inner landscapes to let them grow, expand. It is to embody these emotions, to let yourself be in all this vulnerability and authenticity. & of course it doesn't happen overnight. Whether it's oversplits or self-confidence. & of course it's a never ending process.
