Weight Watchers is filing for bankruptcy. Is anyone shocked or sad about this news? . Eh…probably not. Weight Watchers has become obsolete - not because of weight loss medications, but because people are sick and tired of counting points and weighing in and the whole diet under the guise of ‘lifestyle.’ Unless you’re Madonna, you just can’t reinvent yourself (or your company) this many times and be taken seriously. You’re out, WW. . I’ve literally never seen anyone lose weight and maintain it in a healthy way, using Weight Watchers. Eventually, people buckle under the rules, which are unsustainable. . Let’s take a jaunt down down the company’s memory lane: First, it was a diet with embarrassing group weigh-ins. Public shaming, not a good look. . Then, Weight Watchers tried to convince us that counting points wasn’t a diet..except it is and always was a diet. And their branding change from Weight Watchers to ‘WW,’ to convince everyone that the program was a lifestyle and not weight-focused. Hahaha! Seriously? . And who could forget Kurbo, WW’s diet for kids? As if Weight Watchers for adults didn’t ruin enough people’s relationships with food and their bodies! . And recently, it decided to get into the GLP-1 business. Enough is enough!! . So, for all of my clients who still see food as points even though they haven’t been on the program in decades; . For everyone who was put on WW as a kid and still suffers the effects as an adult; . For the people who were once convinced that WW wasn’t a diet, and then got enmeshed in its lifelong vortex of disordered horribleness; . And for everyone who feels like they need to eat gross concoctions to keep points low and lose weight; . For all of those people, I want to say, Weight Watchers, good riddance to you. People have clearly wised up to your grift. You won’t be missed.

Obesity is NOT genetic... 👎 On CBS’s “60 Minutes,” an obesity doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital (who is also an associate professor at Harvard medical school) made the bold claim that obesity is determined by genetics...🤯🤯 She says that the #1 cause of obesity is genetics…😮 And that if you’re born to parents who are obese you’re more than likely doomed, even with “optimal” diet, sleep, movement, stress management, etc... WHAT!?!🤦 This is absolutely false. But this is mainstream western medicine for you... The western medical paradigm for weight loss is is to eat less and move more... This strategy is NOT the way you lose weight long term. And when this strategy inevitably fails, all western medicine has left to say is... OBESITY IS...GENETIC!?!🤔 Hogwash. Of course some people are more inclined to gain weight than others... However...anyone can effortlessly lose weight with optimal diet, sleep, movement etc. Genetics absolutely do not determine your fate here... The way to lose weight is to become metabolically healthy. How do you do that? 1. Remove processed foods that sabotage your satiety and make you hungrier, as well as promote insulin resistance... Ironically, the foods they tell you to eat to lose weight (like Weight Watchers packaged foods) all contain seed oils, artificial sweeteners, etc.. No bueno!💩 2. Eat REAL foods and become metabolically healthy. Meat, organs (fresh or desiccated from @heartandsoilsupplements), unprocessed plant foods like fruit (heck, even throw in some vegetables if you really need to)... Or just eat an #animalbased diet...🥩🍍 Move a little, get out in the sun, lower your stress, connect with a tribe, and anyone can lose weight... Restricting calories will only impair your thyroid, slow you metabolism, and promote weight GAIN in the long term... If you truly care about you and your families health, I would advise not following mainstream recommendations like this. You are not doomed to a life of obesity. Genetics do not determine your fate! I did @weightwatchers 20 years ago after graduating college, and it’s funny how I still remember the points system for my favorite meals. 🙌 This salmon bowl is one meal that I used to enjoy a lot, but have since upgraded it to make it in the air fryer and include a lot more vegetables and fruits since so many of them are part of the Weight Watchers ZeroPoint® Foods. It’s now easier than ever to follow the program and enjoy your favorite delicious meals without feeling any restrictions especially since they added even more ZeroPoint® Foods - hello oats for breakfast!

If you want to lose body fat, understand that Slimming World and Weight Watchers are corporate organisations that thrive on your failure in order to keep making money. Perhaps this is why they refuse to tell their members they need a calorie deficit, instead instructing them to count syns and points. - - Understand that you don’t need to punish yourself on ultra low calorie, crash diets that only serve to create a yo yo dieting circle of misery. You are allowed to and can enjoy the process. - - Understand that you don’t need to replace rice with grated cauliflower to lose weight or maintain a balanced, supportive diet. You can still eat rice, or any food you enjoy... forever. - - If you don’t want to lose fat, understand that the brand messaging of Slimming World, Weight Watchers, crash diets and ridiculous ‘diet foods’ are designed to undermine your self worth. You don’t need to be ‘slim’ or ‘watch’ your weight to be happy. You are enough. - - Losing fat long term, if that’s what you desire, will depend on your ability to combine as many of your existing dietary and lifestyle preferences as possible with a sustainable calorie deficit. - - Therefore, there is no need for nonsense.
