FEI’m so excited to share our farmstand! 🥳🥳 It’s been a few months in the making, but it was worth the extra time and effort finding the perfect materials! Thank you to all my friends that have followed along and helping me make decisions in stories as I’ve been putting this plan together (you can find them in highlights if you’re interested)!
Something that was important to me was that we made this stand with as many repurposed/recycled materials as possible and that I wanted it to have some character! I love that it’s on wheels with push bars, as well, so we can move it (and could pretty easily take it to a farmer’s market at some point if we wanted) and that we have a built in locked space inside that we can house our money bin (we’ll cut a hole in the board for it) and our egg cooler fits perfectly inside.
Not only was it more eco-friendly, but we saved a lot of money with repurposing materials! We did need to buy some pressure treated lumber and little things like hinges but we were able to repurpose:
-Vintage Cart $60 (Marketplace)
-Plywood (ReStore) $10
-Old window (free to us)
-Green roofing/backing (leftover roofing from ReStore from our treehouse reno) -free
-Red side doors ($2/ea from ReStore)
-4x4s (repurposed from our old grape trellis)- free
Thanks to my amazing dad for helping me put this vision to life and to @portercable for sending me these amazing cordless tools to complete the project in the woods with no cords needed! I was seriously so impressed!
Now the plan is to put those finishing touches with signs and decor, roll it out and stock it with our rainbow 🌈 chicken eggs. My eleven-year-old son will be in charge of running the stand and has plans to make dog treats for sale to add for the winter months (thanks for the inspiration @souly.rested!). I can’t wait until we can start adding in our homemade maple syrup, plants, vases of flowers, hot sauce, dehydrated goodies and all our produce! This will be a wonderful learning experience in entrepreneurship for my kids and I can’t wait to see where we go from here!

WOTool Tip! If you need a new sander for profile sanding, you can always buy one of those new💰models. But if your old sander still sands… inexpensive foam inserts are the ticket to profile sanding. I’ve been using these for years, and the old Porter-Cable ROS just keeps on keeping on!😉👍
