PEGrip width in Pull Up VS Muscle Up 🤓 These are MY grip widths for the two pulling exercises.
Hopefully this video will solve the question I get asked a lot by beginners in calisthenics, "is your muscle up grip narrower than your pull❓". Well, there you go!
As small explanation: 🧐
The Pull Up grip is wider because it allows the chin to surpass the bar while maintaining the proper scapular position. It's probably not the fastest way to accelerate upwards, but it's the most robust way to get a clean rep.
In the Muscle Up you want fast acceleration and easy transition. This is achieved by making the grip more narrow, so we have more acceleration and need less height for the transition. 🚀🚀
